





Evan A. Gould
Mr. Gould represents both plaintiffs and defendants in civil litigation matters with an emphasis in personal injury, commercial and employment litigation. He has experience in cases involving serious bodily injury, sexual molestation, elder abuse, construction site accidents, construction defect litigation, products liability, breach of contract, defamation, negligence, lemon law, insurance coverage and wrongful termination. Mr. Gould also has considerable experience in matters involving professional malpractice including claims against doctors, hospitals, dentists, financial advisors, design professionals, accountants and also other attorneys.
Mr. Gould also advises business clientele on day-to-day issues that relate to the running of their business and compliance with industry-specific laws. Mr. Gould’s business clients have included businesses in the food and beverage industry, hospitality industry, entertainment field, construction industry, legal field, health care industry, media and communications, real estate, product development, technology field, and individual entrepreneurs of various types. Mr. Gould often assists his business clients with matters of business development, business formation, contract preparation, collections, employer-employee issues, the development and implementation of policies and procedures, and when the need arises, their litigation matters.
Mr. Gould also serves as both a private Mediator and Arbitrator. He is currently on the approved panel of mediators and arbitrators of the San Diego Superior Court. Mr. Gould also serves as a Mediator for the Keybridge Foundation, a mediation provider to the U.S. Department of Justice in cases involving alleged violations of the Americans with Disabilities Act. He also is on the Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators of FINRA, (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, formerly N.A.S.D.) the largest independent regulator for all securities firms doing business in the United States. FINRA provides a dispute resolution forum for consumers in claims against sales persons and/or brokers of financial products. FINRA oversees nearly 5,000 brokerage firms and more than 600,000 registered securities representatives. Mr. Gould’s wide range of experience lends itself well to serving as a neutral in a wide range of disputes. Mr. Gould enjoys a very high success rate in matters brought before him, and has been able to bring closure to litigants or
disputing parties in over 80% of the cases in which he has served.
Mr. Gould graduated from San Diego State University in 1984 and California Western School of Law in 1987. While at California Western, Mr. Gould served as a staff writer and editor for the California Western Law Review and International Law Journal. Mr. Gould was also active in the school’s Moot Court Competition and served as a mentor to younger students. Mr. Gould continues to offer his time to mentor those pursuing the legal field. In the early years following law school, Mr. Gould worked for several firms whose major emphasis was on the representation and/or defense of medical malpractice claims. Thereafter, Mr. Gould spent seven years with a major insurance defense firm in Southern California where he represented insured homeowners, automobile owners and business owners, including a major grocery chain and retailer. Through this experience, Mr. Gould gained a valuable insight into the insurance
industry claims process. This “big firm” and defense experience also gives Mr. Gould a unique
knowledge that many lawyers cannot claim.
Mr. Gould is licensed to practice before the Supreme Court of the State of California and the United States District Court, Southern and Central Districts. He also is licensed to practice in the State of Colorado. Mr. Gould is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association and the Consumer Attorneys of San Diego. Mr. Gould has lectured before various groups in San Diego and Southern California concerning fundamentals of civil litigation and the benefits and procedures relating to arbitration, mediation and other types of Alternative Dispute Resolution.
David J. Hollander
David J. Hollander has over 22 years of legal experience as a trial lawyer, litigator, and business attorney. He represents a broad range of clients from financial institutions, corporations, small businesses to individuals in a wide variety of areas including commercial, business, construction, real estate and personal injury disputes in California’s state and federal courts. Mr. Hollander has significant jury trial experience but understands the importance of early, creative and cost-effective resolution of disputes.
Mr. Hollander’s litigation practice covers a broad spectrum of matters including, but not limited to the following: collections; construction defects; mechanic’s liens; asbestos, mold and environmental claims; purchase and sale contracts; real estate disclosure issues; fraud and fiduciary duty issues; commercial landlord and tenant matters; business disputes; unfair business practices; enforcement of contracts; employment claims; professional negligence; and serious personal injury cases.
Mr. Hollander’s transaction practice covers a broad spectrum of commercial, business, real estate and construction matters including, but not limited to the following: negotiating and drafting commercial loan agreements; borrower’s counsel opinion letters; purchase and sale agreements; business entity formation documents; and contracts of all types. Mr. Hollander has also served as outside general counsel to real estate developers, general contractors and manufacturers.
Mr. Hollander prides himself on providing high quality legal counsel and personal attention in a zealous and ethical manner to each client, whether a large corporation, small business or an individual.
Mr. Hollander is a 1984 graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara with honors in political science and a 1987 graduate of Hastings College of the Law. He is admitted to practice before all of the courts in the State of California as well as in the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. Mr. Hollander received a “BV” rating from the Martindale Hubbell Peer Review Rating System. He is a member of the California Bar, the San Diego County Bar Association and Consumer Attorneys of San Diego.
Mr. Hollander is married with two sons. He is active in his community, plays tennis and
assists with coaching his sons’ sports teams.
